RECENT NEWS

Throughout December
The Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens continues with it's innovative Cummer at S.P. Livingston program.  Over the course of the school year, students at every grade level will be immersed in Cummer-led art activitiesboth in-school and at the Cummer museum. All of the activities are age appropriate and make many cross-curricular connections to the Sunshine State Standards and benchmarks for each grade level.  The program will culminate with a mini-Cummer exhibition taking place at the school where students will turn their hallways and classrooms into museum galleries with their works of art.  The Jacksonville Zoological Gardens also continues their work with 4th grade students at 11 schools located throughout Jacksonville's Northside. Their "Vertebrate Body Systems" program developed in conjunction with Duval Schools Science Curriculum team will take the zoo into the classroom.  This hands-on expereince will allow students to get up close and personal with the animals while zoo educators help them compare and contrast these animals body systems with our own human body system.

Throughout November
